Assistant Manager/Personal Banker

Location:  Main Bank, 3710 SW Topeka Boulevard, Topeka, Kansas

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, rotating Saturdays 9:00 am - Noon 

General Position Summary:
The Assistant Manager/Personal Banker position is primarily responsible for managing and growing an assigned portfolio of retail customers by focusing on day-to-day sales of banking products and services to meet customers’ financial needs. Performs a variety of customer services such as opening new checking, savings, certificates of deposit, and IRA accounts, safe deposit boxes, taking loan applications, closing deposit accounts and answering questions from existing and prospective customers. Is also responsible for training, scheduling and supervising the retail banking center tellers.

Essential Functions:

  • Serves as primary contact for customers and prospects to acquire information and define financial needs; recommends and sells investment and retail products to meet their financial needs, and opens appropriate new accounts. Refers customers with non-retail product needs to appropriate departments.
  • Provides customer services such as account inquiries, accepting and processing collection items, telephone account and wire transfers, stop payment requests and check orders. Closes accounts, admits customers to safe deposit boxes.
  • Performs administrative support duties for the banking center.
  • Services existing loan relationships by contacting customers regarding delinquent payments, recommending payment deferrals, loan extensions, collateral releases and endorsing insurance proceeds checks payable to the customer and the Bank. 
  • Provides backup for Tellers during peak periods or staffing emergencies (see Teller job description for details)

Qualifications:

  • Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of three years retail banking experience with two years retail customer service experience.
  • The ability to complete complex math calculations and possesses moderate computer skills.
  • Previous supervisory experience is helpful

Tellers - Part-time (two positions) 
Location:  North Banking Center - 2040 NW Topeka Boulevard, Topeka, Kansas

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6:45 am – 1:00 pm, rotating Saturdays, 9:00 am - Noon

Location:  Wanamaker Banking Center - 2915 SW Wanamaker Road, Topeka, Kansas

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 1:00 pm – 6:00 pm, rotating Saturdays, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

General Position Summary:

The Teller position is responsible for performing a wide variety of customer services such as cashing checks, and receiving/processing deposits, payments and withdrawals for individual and business accounts. The position is also responsible for cross-selling Bank products and services while processing transactions and answering questions from existing and prospective customers.

Essential Functions:

  • Assists Bank customers with all questions and inquiries; recommends and sells retail products to meet the customers' financial needs.
  • Accepts and processes checking and savings deposits including night deposits; inspects deposit tickets and deposited items for completeness and correctness; validates customer receipts. Places holds on accounts to identify uncollected funds.
  • Cashes checks and savings withdrawals within prescribed limits. 
  • Balances cash drawer daily to assure accuracy in transactions.
  • Processes collections items and credit card cash advances.
  • Accepts and processes all types of loan, credit line, safe deposit, and some utility and other commercial relationship payments.
  • Responds to customer inquiries regarding basic account information.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Six months cash handling experience in a retail environment.
  • Ability to complete basic math calculations.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service and recognize and respond to sales opportunities. 
  • Ability to understand banking regulations as they apply to the teller position.
